Moorage
- Even though the marina is located in the sheltered waters of the
Southern Gulf Islands, Ganges Marina chose to further protect the
moorage docks from the southeasterly winds by installing a floating
breakwater.
- The floating breakwater consists of a steel super structure with
a wooden deck and fenders around the outside perimeter. The moorage
slips will accommodate all types of pleasure craft within a size
range of 25’ to +160’ that can be moored in single,
double or rafting sized slips, electrical service is provided in
15, 30 or 50 amp circuits conveniently located along the docks,
potable water outlets are provided at convenient locations as well.
- Due to the amount of rainfall and the capacity of the island reservoirs,
the use of potable water for washing boats is restricted during
the summer months – there has never been a problem in recent
history to provide potable water for your holding tanks. A waste
pumping station is located near-by where boaters can empty their
sewage holding tanks. Canadian law prohibits the emptying of sewage
holding tanks within local waters.
- With the additional mooring spaces alongside the floating breakwater
plus lengthening the docks and adding mooring spaces there as well,
the marina will be able to accommodate the ever increasing number
of boaters calling at our marina.
- Come and join the marina staff for freshly prepared coffee and
muffins from 08:00 hours to 10:30 hours each day from June 15
to September long weekend. Until We Meet Again - Happy Boating!
